I designed and built ReadStride, an EPUB reader that brings classic reading and speed reading together in one focused experience. The idea is simple: let people choose their reading pace and make it easier to come back to a book every day.
My role: Product Designer and Builder.
One book, two ways to read
Classic reading gives the text room to breathe. Speed reading presents one word at a time, with a highlighted focus point that helps guide the eye. Readers can switch modes without losing their place, revisit a sentence, and see the surrounding context when they need it.
A reading experience that feels personal
Typography, text size, and light and dark reading themes let readers adjust the page to their preferences. Highlights and bookmarks help them return to passages that matter. The interface keeps controls close at hand while giving the book the main stage.
Building a daily habit
The Today screen brings the current book and daily goal together, with a clear path back into reading. Reading statistics show progress, while configurable rest reminders make space for breaks during longer sessions.
From design to a working product
ReadStride brings the library, reader, appearance settings, and reading progress into a coherent product. I worked on both the experience and the implementation, taking the app from an idea to a published Android release.
ReadStride is currently available on Google Play. An App Store release is coming soon.
